“… It is called the thousand uses earth…” Nevertheless we can exemplify some of the uses that our more than 500 clients give to this product:

A- Filtrating procedures in general

Agar Agar, carrageenan, alginates, glucose/syrop, sugar alcohol, water, resins, fruit juice, Wine, Beer, brines, sulfates, sulfuric acid, eatable oils, industrial oils, organic solvents (SX-CU process), gels.

B- Spill Control
Fuel oil, oil in refinery, Ships, Garages, Factories.

C- Functional Fillers

 
 
 
Paper Industry
Celite MNPP is a variety of products specially developed for the paper industry. Usually this industry uses recycled secondary fiber in its manufacturing procedure. This type of raw material generates incrustation problems that are usually solved with very expensive additives.
Our line of diatomaceous earth products has been specially designed to control incrustation problems during the elaboration of paper. Each product has the following characteristics:
• They are hydrophilic (for instant humidification)
• Organophilic (strong attraction to organic components)
• Big total surface area (in less than one pound, 227grs, it covers a surface greater than a football field)
• Low density (160 gr./Lt)
• Whiteness (90 blue light)
In addition to these characteristics, CELITE MNPP does not interfere with humidifying products that are added in different stages of the manufacturing procedure, nor does it affect the physical properties of the paper. There have been cases where the physical properties of the paper have been improved.
 
 
Paint Industry
DIACTIV functional fillers are efficiently used as pigment extenders and as semigrightening agents.
Our product, used as functional filler, has been used in the paint industry for over 50 years. With its variety of forms, the DIACTIV particles intertwine with the paint particles giving more tenacity and duration to product liaison. Its microscopic irregular forms, when spreading light, allow controlling of the amount of brightness desired in the paint. The porous structure of diatomaceous earth reduces the tendency to form blisters and at the same time ensures faster drying because of a better solvent evaporation.
Given that diatomaceous earth is pure cilice, the product is inert to the solvents commonly used and it does not interfere with paint pigments.
This and many other properties allow paint manufacturers to use DIACTIV functional fillers to produce water based paints and varnishes.
 
 
Insecticides and Fertilizer
The different degrees of DIACTIV constitute a way to obtain, from solid toxic substances of diluted or viscous liquids, concentrates with high percentage of active matter and easy manipulation.
Powders can be easily prepared from insecticides or liquid pesticides, by mixing them with DIACTIV. In the fabrication of ammonium nitrate and other fertilizers, DIACTIV functional fillers give the product a protective shell that reduces the formation of clusters, improving the fluidity of the product and its soil penetration capacity.
 
 
Polishes
DIACTIV functional fillers are also used in a great variety of cleaning and polishing products.
Its particles hollow structure and thin walls, even though they are very strong, are usually broken when pressed before polishing surfaces, producing a better result. At the same time, the size of each one of the particles varies depending on the different grades of DIACTIV, ensuring that we can find the perfect product for your need.
DIACTIV can be applied to a wide range of processes such as polishing delicate silver or industrial duty in the metallurgical industry.
 
 
Rubber Industry
The rubber industry needs inert and stiffener fillers to reduce costs and to improve the quality of the final product. DIACTIV has both qualities because of its low density and its high content of cilice. Its presence facilitates the incorporation of oils (added to DIACTIV), mixes the different components better and makes the final product stronger and more resistant. It is used in organic and synthetic rubbers for the elaboration of tires, soles and heels, gloves for industrial use, sporting goods, etc.
 
 
Stone Wash Procedures
By definition, stone wash is a mechanic action on cotton garments that causes a “already worn” effect or look according to the request of each client.
Because of the size of its particles, DIACTIV is distributed evenly over the clothes so that, when the clothes are put together, every piece is “stoned washed” through this mechanic action.
